Yubaba is an evolving journey from dub into lounge, with a trip hop feeling and an electro taste, featuring a diverse array of live musicians. Singers Thailan, Blacklight, and Nathalia, plus the trumpet player Dan Covan and a number of Brazilian percussionists, create soulful melodies and rhythmic textures.

Long time friends Pedro Gomide and Frederico Drummond have been active artists for many years on the Brazilian downtempo and trance scenes, appearing at several of the premiere festivals in Brazil and the USA. They join their skills in this project, where they mix influences from their roots to recreate the eclectic and open-minded mood you could only find in Brasil.

After an enjoyable and successful live premiere at Symbiosis Gathering 2007 in California, Yubaba toured the Brazilian summer festival circuit, playing to cheerful listeners and dancers at Universo Paralello and other parties. In Summer 2008 they will be touring Brazil, performing at Trancendence, and later traveling to Europe for BOOM Festival.

The official album release is happening in September 2008 through the California label Cyberset Records. Album artwork was designed by Zariat from Cacao Media.
